    How to Submit Request for My Team

    Managers (and other designated users) can submit access requests on behalf of their team members. This makes it easier to set up access when employees change roles, join your team, or take on new responsibilities.

    🔗 Go to orangeaccess.syr.edu


    1. Log in to OrangeAccess

    1. Open a browser and go to orangeaccess.syr.edu.

    2. Log in with your NetID and password.

    3. After login, you’ll see the OrangeAccess Home Page with tiles.

    2. Submit a Request for Team Members

    1. From the home page, click Request Center.

    3. At the top of the page, you will see Select applications for X users (where X is the number of selected team members).

    4. Click the person icon or the “X users” link to open the team selection window.

    5. In the pop-up window:

      • Review the team members currently selected.

      • Add or remove identities as needed.

      • Click Select These Identities to close the window. 📸 Screenshot: Team selection pop-up window

    6. With the team members selected, browse or search for the access items you want to request.

      • Example: Search for FSCM and select the relevant role.

    7. (Optional) Add a comment to explain the business need for the request.

    8. (Optional) Set an expiration date if the access is temporary.

    9. (Optional) Add additional access items for the same group of users.

    11. On the review page, you can make final edits, including adding or removing identities again. 📸 Screenshot: Review Requests page before submission

    12. Once ready, click Submit Request.


    3. Review Submitted Request

    1. Return to the Home Page.

    2. Click the Pending Requests tile.

    3. Locate the request you just submitted and click Details.

    4. An email confirmation will also be sent to both you and the employee. 📸 Screenshot: Example email confirmation sent to employee


    4. Monitor Progress

    • The request will follow the standard approval workflow:

      • Manager approval (if you are not the employee’s manager).

      • Application/Data Owner approval (governance group).

    • You can monitor the request status under Pending Requests. 📸 Screenshot: Pending Requests showing status update

    • The employee will also receive an email when their access is approved or denied. 📸 Screenshot: Example approval-denial email sent to employee


    ✅ Tips:

    • You can request access for more than one team member at a time by selecting multiple identities.

    • Use the Review Requests page to double-check that all selected team members and access items are correct before submitting.

    • Bulk uploads or department-wide requests are not supported — requests must be made for specific individuals.
