Email Notifications in OrangeAccess
OrangeAccess sends automated email notifications to keep you informed about your access requests. Notifications are sent when you submit a request, when it is approved or denied, and when access is removed.
Who Sends the Emails?
All OrangeAccess notifications come from:
Orange Access orangeaccess@syr.edu
Add this address to your Safe Senders list to ensure you always receive these emails.
What Types of Emails Will I Receive?
Request submitted – Confirmation that your request was received.
Approval needed – Sent to managers or application/data owners when a request requires their review.
Request approved or denied – Updates on the outcome of your request.
Access removed – Confirmation when access has been revoked.

Viewing Images in Outlook/Exchange
By default, Outlook does not display images in messages from new senders. When you first receive an email from OrangeAccess, you may see an informational banner at the top:
“Click here to download pictures…”
To ensure emails display correctly in the future:
Click Download Pictures.
Select Add Sender to Safe Senders List.

✅ Tip: Adding orangeaccess@syr.edu to your Safe Senders list not only displays images automatically but also helps prevent OrangeAccess emails from being sent to Junk/Spam.
