SAP2000 v23

SAP2000 v23 for Windows is freely available to architecture students to install on a personal computer. The software is also available in the Architecture computer labs and Arch RemoteLab.

How to obtain the software

  • The installation file is located on the G drive in G:\ARCH-FILER\Student Resources\Software\SAP2000\.

Limitations

  • SAP2000 will only work if you first install and configure the SU Azure VPN using these steps. 

    • Once you have the VPN installed, before starting SAP2000, start the VPN app and sign in. When you are done using SAP2000, disconnect the VPN.

  • The software may only be used for educational course work and must be uninstalled upon graduation or withdrawal from the program; no commercial use is permitted.

How to install

  1. Copy the file SAP2000v2330LegacySetup.exe from the G drive to your computer.

  2. Double click the file to start the installation.

  3. Choose 'install for everyone' if asked.

  4. Fill in the following:
        User name: School of Architecture
        Organization: Syracuse University

  5. Choose Network License.

  6. After the installation is done, copy the file LMHOST.INI to the following location on your computer and overwrite the existing file if asked:

    C:\Program Files\Computers and Structures\SAP2000 23
