      Tally Plugin for Revit

      Jun 28, 2024

Tally is a plug-in for Revit (Windows only) that calculates the environmental impacts of your building material selections directly in an Autodesk Revit model.

These instructions cover how to install Tally on your personal computer.

      Installation

      1. Make sure Revit is already installed. You can get a free education license for Revit from https://www.autodesk.com/education/students.

      2. Find the Tally installer on the G drive at G:\ARCH\Student Resources\Software\Tally Plug-in for Revit\Tally 2023-09-13-01.msi.

        • To reach the G drive from your personal computer, use these instructions.

      3. Copy the file to your own computer and double click to run it.

      4. After install, start Revit. On the ribbon, click Add-Ins tab > Tally.

      5. You must click Download EULA before it will let you advance.

      6. Fill in your name, company (Syracuse University) and your own SU email address. Click Next.

      7. Do not fill in Code. Click 'I have a license key'.  Next.

      8. Enter the school license key:

Click this link to obtain the license key (login required).

      9. It should say "Successfully assigned license."

      10. Double check that the license expiration is correct.

        1. Start Revit, click the Add-Ins tab, then click Tally.

        2. In the Tally window, click Help > About Tally and look for an expiration date of 6/28/2025.

      Renew an existing license

      • The school's license is renewed annually at the end of June.

      • The school license key does not change.

      • If you notice that the expiration date did not renew, click Help > Register Tally > Enter license number.

      • Enter the school key from step 8 above.
