Kaltura Video

At Syracuse University, Kaltura is the supported video platform that is integrated with Blackboard, making it the best solution for instructors who want to incorporate video content into their courses. Kaltura allows faculty, staff, and students to upload, manage, and embed video content directly within Blackboard. Faculty can enrich their course materials with video content and students can use video to participate in courses.

Users can add media to their libraries by uploading their own video files, linking to existing YouTube videos, and recording with Kaltura Capture, Express Capture, or Zoom. Once videos are in Kaltura, users can can embed them directly into their Blackboard courses in the content area or any other place they have access to the text editor. The Kaltura video player is accessible with features like closed captioning and playback speed control. It also allows the video owner to see playback analytics.
