    On May 2, 2023, the Maxwell School celebrated the achievements of undergraduate scholarship in the social sciences in the eleventh annual Maxwell Celebration of Undergraduate Scholarship. Our celebration consisted of individual events hosted by each department as well as a multi-disciplinary poster session featuring research undertaken by undergraduate students during the current academic year.

     

    The following awards were presented during the celebration: 



    MAX 123/132 Exemplary Student Paper Award, selected by MAX course faculty.

    MAX 123 – Julia Boehning (co-winner)

    MAX 123 – Micah Greenberg (co-winner)

    MAX 123 – Claire Guo (co-winner)

    MAX 132 – Samuel Greenberg (co-winner)

    MAX 132 – Jessica Singh (co-winner)

    MAX 132 – Nathan Torabi (co-winner)



    Outstanding Student Research Paper, selected by a Maxwell faculty committee:

    Bailee Roberts for her paper titled “Seeing Red: Examining Systemic Forms of Inequality for Women in the Visual Arts”



    Honorable Mention Research Paper, selected by a Maxwell faculty committee:

    Taylor Stover for her paper titled “That Wisest of Women: Geneviève Tabouis and Women’s Transatlantic Foreign Policy Engagement During World War II”



    Best Poster Award, selected by a committee of Maxwell graduate students:

    Mario Zelaya for his poster “The effect of market volatility on mental health”



    Research Poster Honorable Mention, selected by a committee of Maxwell graduate students:

    Bailee Roberts for her poster “Seeing Red: Examining Systemic Forms of Inequality for Women in the Visual Arts”



    Viewer's Choice Poster Awards, selected by viewer voting during the poster session:

    A tie: Rebeka Renes, “The Visegrad 4: A Hungarian Perspective,” and Sumer Robbin, “Women in Iranian Society: Comparing Women's Status in Iran Pre and Post Islamic Revolution”
