Orange Tracker and Outlook Email Integration
This functionality requires the Jira for Outlook connector.
Create new Orange Tracker work items, add to existing Orange Tracker work items, and view related work items.
Sending Outlook Email from Orange Tracker
This is only to be used for external email purposes only. This is not to be used for Customer communications. All emails sent are designated with the External tag.
This sends and connects an Outlook email thread to an Orange Tracker work item. All replies to this email thread are recorded in this work item. All email features available in Outlook are available through this functionality. Work item fields and data can be also included on this request.
Navigate to the desired work item in Orange Tracker to send the email from
Under the Activity section, select Microsoft Outlook
Select New External Email …
Fill in the
To,Subject,Email, and other desired fieldsSelect Send
Email (and replies) will be included under Microsoft Outlook in the Activity tab
Creating Orange Tracking Work Items from Email via Outlook
This creates a work item in Orange Tracker via an email an Outlook, providing the ability to modify Jira fields.
Can only create work items in projects that you are in the Service Desk Team role on.
In Outlook, navigate to the email desired to create the Orange Tracker work item
Select the Jira for Outlook app
Select Create new issue
Fill out the project, request type, and all other related fields
Select Create
Adding Email Body as Comment to Existing Orange Tracker Work Item via Outlook
This function adds the email body as a comment to the existing work item.
In Outlook, navigate to the email desired to create the Orange Tracker work item
Select the Jira for Outlook app
Select Add to Issue
Select the desired project and parent issue (work item)
Select the comment type (Share with customer, Comment internally) to send
