      Xerox copier - Printing on 7" x 10" notecards

      Jun 18, 2025

This page covers how to print on the Syracuse Architecture 7x10" notecards.

      Settings on the copier

      1. Before sending the print, load the notecard in Tray 5 (Bypass) on the left side of the copier.

      2. Load the side you want to print on face down (it will print on the underside).

      3. Load the notecard long-edge first so that the 10" side feeds into the printer.

      4. When you load the paper, the screen will prompt you to confirm the paper settings.

        1. For size, pick JIS B5 (182x257), which is equivalent to 7x10".

        2. For type, pick Heavyweight.

        3. Color can be left at White.

        4. Click Confirm when done.

      Settings on your computer

      1. On your computer, print only PDFs (convert to PDF before you send the print). Don't print directly from Microsoft Word.

      2. Open the PDF in Acrobat and bring up the Print dialog box.

      3. After choosing the copier, set the following:

        1. Actual size

        2. enable 'Choose paper source by PDF page size'

        3. Auto portrait/landscape

      4. Click Properties to bring up the Xerox settings window.

      5. Under the Print Options tab > Paper section, click the drop down arrow.

      6. For Other Size, choose Fit to New Paper Size > JIS B5 (182 x 257 mm).

      7. For Other Type, choose Heavyweight. Basically the idea is to match the settings you chose on the copier in Step 4 above.

      8. Now send the print. The paper should automatically feed into the printer. It should exit the printer on the right side.

      9. The copier may prompt you to select the correct paper size; if it does pick JIS B5 (swipe down as it's on second page).

      Troubleshooting

      • If the paper does not get pulled in, double check the settings.

      • If you need to print on both sides, send each side as a separate print job. Don't use auto-duplex (double-sided printing) with cardstock.
