Xerox copier - Create a booklet

      Jul 14, 2021

The Professional Finisher must be installed and enabled in order to create a folded and stapled booklet. Booklets can be created without the Professional Finisher installed; however, they will not be folded and stapled, just printed in booklet layout.

      To print a booklet:

      1. Open the multiple-page document in the required application.

      2. Select [Print] from the File menu. The Print window will be displayed.

      3. If necessary, select the WorkCentre from the Printers list.

      4. Click on the [Preferences] or [Properties] button. The Preferences or Properties window will be displayed.

      5. Click on the [Layout / Watermark] tab.

      6. Click on the [Booklet Layout] radio button. If the Professional Finisher is installed continue with the next step. If the Professional finisher is not installed, skip to step 9.

      7. Click on the [Booklet Finishing] button. The Booklet Finishing window will be displayed.

      8. Select one of the following Booklet Finishing options:

        • [None]

        • [Booklet Fold]

        • [Booklet Fold and Staple]

      9. Click on [OK].

      10. Click on the check box next to [Fit to New Paper Size] to insert a check mark. The Paper Sizes field will become available below the Fit to New Paper Size check box.

      11. Click on the menu and select the required paper size.

NOTE: A4 (210 x 297 mm) and Letter size (8.5 x 11 in.) paper must be loaded short-edge feed (SEF) in the paper tray.

      12. Click on [OK] twice to print the booklet.

The Booklet Creation option enables the production of booklets or multi-page copies from one or two-sided originals. The machine will scan the originals and automatically reduce and arrange the images in the correct sequence on the selected copy paper, so that a booklet is created when the copy set is folded in half. The Professional Finisher with Booklet Maker can fold and staple your booklets automatically, if installed.

NOTE: Supported paper types, sizes, and weights, as well as stapling and hole-punch capacity, will vary depending on the Finisher type. See the Related Content for additional information regarding Finisher specifications.

      To create a booklet:

      1. Load the originals face-up in the Duplex Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) with the long edge to the left.

      2. Select the paper tray that is loaded with the required paper on the Touch Screen.

NOTE: Booklet Creation is not available if Auto Paper Select is selected.

      3. Select the [Copy] tab on the All Services screen, and then select the [OK] button. The Copy screen will be displayed.

      4. Select the [Output Format] tab.

      5. Select the [Booklet Creation] button. The Booklet Creation screen will be displayed.

      6. Select the [On] button under Booklet Options.

      7. Select one of the following options under Original Input:

        • [1 Sided Originals]

        • [2 Sided Originals]

        • [2 Sided, Rotate Side 2]

      8. Select one of the following options under Fold and Staple:

        • [No Fold and Staple]

        • [Fold and Staple]

        • [Fold Only]

      9. Select the [Left to Right] or [Right to Left] button under Reading Order.

      10. Select the [Save] button.

      11. Select the [Basic Copy] tab.

      12. Enter the required number of copies using the numeric keypad on the Control Panel.

      13. Press the green oval [Start] button on the Control Panel to begin copying.
