    Microphone Kit Instructions

    Kit Contents (May Vary)

    Each microphone kit contains:

    • Up to 6 Handheld Wireless Microphones (labeled 1–6; room dependent)

    • Up to 6 Lavalier Wireless Microphones (bodypacks, also labeled 1–6; room dependent)

    • AA Batteries

Important: Only use the microphones from this kit in the room. Do not use the in-room microphones, as this will cause frequency interference due to duplicated channels.

    How To Use

    • Each handheld and lavalier in the kit shares a matched frequency with one of the receivers. They are essentially interchangeable, but only one mic per frequency should be turned on at a time.

      • Each mic (handheld and lavalier) are labeled 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6.

      • A handheld and lavalier with the same number use the same frequency

      • Only one mic per number should be active at a time. For example:

        • Speaker A prefers lavalier → Use Lavalier 1 → Keep Handheld 1 turned off

        • Speaker B prefers handheld → Use Handheld 2 → Keep Lavalier 2 turned off

        • Speaker C prefers handheld → Use Handheld 3 → Keep Lavalier 3 turned off

        • Speaker D prefers lavalier → Use Lavalier 4 → Keep Handheld 4 turned off

    • Follow the instructions for powering on the lavalier or handheld microphones here: https://answers.atlassian.syr.edu/wiki/x/NgF5CQ

    Post-Use Checklist

    • Power off all microphones and bodypacks.

    • Return the kit microphones to their designated spots within the kit.

    • Leave existing in-room microphones in the classroom/event space.

    • Return the kit to Lyman 104.

    Helpful Tips

    • Do not turn on both a handheld and a lavalier that share the same frequency at the same time.

    • Do not use in-room mics alongside kit mics. This will cause signal interference.

    • Ensure batteries are replaced before use to ensure they remain charged throughout the event.
