    Using Registrar Classroom Computers

Important Notice: If your classroom computer has been upgraded to Windows 11, you must log in using your full Syracuse University email address (e.g., NetID@syr.edu) and password. Logging in with just your NetID (without @syr.edu) will not work on Windows 11 devices.

    Logging Into Windows 11 Computers

Syracuse University Users (Active NetID/Syracuse University Email Address)

The recommended login method for Windows 11 computers is using your Syracuse University email address (NetID@syr.edu) and password.
    Benefits include:

    • Access to your network drives.

    • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Microsoft Office and Adobe is stored, so you’ll only need to complete MFA once every 60 days on that computer.

    • Your SU Windows profile settings—such as desktop icons, background, documents, and pictures—will carry over to the classroom computer.

    Guest Users (No Active NetID)

The Guest account is designed for visitors presenting on classroom computers.
    Limitations include:

    • No access to network drives.

    • No data is saved after logout.

    • Adobe requires login with a Syracuse University or personal account.

    • Microsoft Office will be in read-only mode unless logged in with a valid account.

Signing Out of Windows 11 Computers

To sign out of a Windows 11 computer:

    1. Click the Start (Windows) icon in the bottom center of the screen.

    2. Select your profile icon (usually a circle with your initials or picture).

    3. Click Sign out.
