      Study Abroad/Away Opportunities

Please be aware: There are GPA requirements for an abroad or study away opportunity. Make sure you review all application materials carefully!

      Communication and Rhetorical Studies (B.S.)

      • Study Abroad — Due to the flexible nature of the program, an abroad location and the semester are negotiable.

      • Study Away — Los Angeles (third or fourth year, spring); this is the only location with a specific timeline.

      Department of Drama

      • Acting, B.F.A. — London (third year, fall); and/or New York City/Tepper or Los Angeles (fourth year, spring)

      • Drama, B.S. — New York City/Tepper or Los Angeles (fourth year, spring)

      • Musical Theater, B.F.A. — London (third year, fall); and/or New York City/Tepper or Los Angeles (fourth year, spring)

      • Stage Management, B.F.A. — London (third year, spring); and/or New York City/Tepper or Los Angeles (fourth year, spring)

      • Theater Design and Technology, B.F.A. — Florence or London (third year, spring); and/or New York City/Tepper or Los Angeles (fourth year, spring)

Department of Film and Media Arts

      • Art Photography, B.F.A. — We strongly encourage students speak with their faculty advisor to discuss location and semester.

      • Computer Art and Animation, B.F.A. — Florence (third year, spring) and/or Los Angeles (fourth year, fall)

      • Film, B.F.A. — Bologna (summer), World Partner: FAMU/Prague (third year fall), and/or Los Angeles (fourth year, spring)

      School of Art

      • Illustration, B.F.A. — Florence (third year, spring) and/or Los Angeles (fourth year, fall)

      • Studio Arts, B.F.A. — Florence (third year, spring) and/or Los Angeles (fourth year, fall)

      • Studio Arts, B.S. — Florence or London (third year, spring); and/or Los Angeles (fourth year, fall)

When applying for Florence with an intent to take studio electives, make sure to apply for the studio arts program as this will allow you to enroll in studio electives. If your intent is to focus on academics and art histories, please apply to the regular program.

      School of Design

      • Communications Design, B.F.A. — London (third year, spring)

      • Design Studies, B.S. — Florence or London (third year, spring); and/or Los Angeles (fourth year, fall). We strongly encourage students speak with their program coordinator regarding location ahead of time.

      • Environmental and Interior Design, B.F.A. — Florence, London, or World Partner: Copenhagen* (third year, spring)

      • Fashion Design, B.F.A. — London College of Fashion (third year, spring)

      • Industrial and Interaction Design, B.I.D. — Florence or London (third year, spring)

*The Copenhagen program is competitive and requires students to apply early. We cannot guarantee that you will be accepted as other schools and universities can also apply to this World Partner. Living arrangements are more independent than those found in Florence and London. If this program is of interest, please speak with your program coordinator as soon as possible.
