      Data Backup

      Jul 05, 2020

Computer loss and accidental deletion, are just some of the ways that you can lose the data you’ve spent so long accumulating. Typically all of your data files are all stored in one place – your device. Unfortunately having all of your data in only one place is dangerous.

The only way to prepare for the unexpected is to have a good backup in place. There are many different ways to backup your computers, and using multiple backup options will minimize the risk of losing your valuable files.

      Campus Computers (on-domain)

All on-domain Windows laptop are synced and backup to your University H: drive. You can also browse for Previous Versions in this directory if you accidentally delete or want to revert changes made on your documents.

      Personal Computers (off-domain)

You are responsible for your own data if you are using an off-domain laptop (usually by choice). Visit How to Backup Data for guides and recommendations.
