Building Access

For Fall 2025, Huntington Hall exterior doors will be unlocked:

  • 7:15 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday

  • 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday

  • 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday

  • Locked Sundays and holiday breaks

Card swipe access is available 24/7 for authorized individuals at the entrances on the east side (University Ave), the south side (courtyard) of Huntington Hall or the main entrance located on Marshall Street.

Requests to open the building beyond normal hours will be considered on a case by case basis. Submit requests with details via email to Courtney Fisher, Dean’s Office Coordinator, to cefisher@syr.edu. Please allow a minimum of 48 hours before requests are activated. Please also notify the Dean’s Office if non-SOE individuals need to be added or deleted from the Building Online Security System, or of any building access issues during business hours. After hours, report mechanical failures to Facilities Services at 315.444.1234. If you feel unsafe or require urgent access to a building, contact the Department of Public Safety. In an emergency call 911.

Hours and access for other SOE locations on campus may be different. Requests for access to the other listed buildings should be made through the respective Building Access Coordinator.

Room Reservations

Spaces in Huntington Hall can be reserved by members of the School of Education community for University-related work and business. All reservations are done using Room Resources in Outlook. The room configuration and condition is the responsibility of the person in charge of the meeting. Rooms should be left in an orderly and clean condition after you leave.

Please use soesupport@syr.edu to communicate issues relating to curriculum, including scheduling, registration, classroom requests (including 070B), syllabi, and course/program proposals.

Classrooms

The classrooms in 100-107 Huntington Hall are scheduled by the Office of the Registrar and maintained by ITS LEMP: 100-107 Huntington Hall. For questions about classroom reservation requests, email soesupport@syr.edu.

Help Keep Our Spaces Clean!

  • Toss Your Trash: Please use the trash and recycling bins for all your waste keeping the tables, chairs, and floor free of litter.

  • Wipe Down Surfaces: If you have any spills or crumbs, please wipe down the tables and surfaces. Cleaning supplies are available for your use.

  • Erase the Whiteboards/Charts: If you use the whiteboards/charts, please erase them before you leave. Make sure markers are capped and put away.

  • Posterboards: Please do not leave anything affixed to the walls. If you use large Post-it sheets, please take them with you or dispose of them.

  • Put Furniture Back: After your meeting, please return the chairs and tables to their original positions. This helps everyone find the room ready to use.

  • Take Your Belongings: Don’t forget to take all your personal items with you. This includes notebooks, pens, and anything else you brought in.

  • Be Mindful with Food and Drinks: If you’re enjoying snacks or drinks, please be careful and clean up any spills immediately. Dispose of containers properly.

  • Respect the Space: Treat the space with care. Thank you for helping us keep the meeting room clean and pleasant for all!

  • Report Issues: If you see any damage or something that needs fixing, please let the Executive Assistant to the Dean or Dean’s Office Coordinator know right away.
