    Announcements

    Mar 05, 2020

This section of the Blackboard course is useful for instructors to alert learners to information necessary to learner success. If the instructor changes a due date or updates an assignment, for example, announcements serve as a means to provide that information to all learners.

Learners respond favorably to announcements that are phrased in language that they regularly use and that avoid academic jargon.

    • Example: if the instructor plans to hold virtual office hours, the instructor might also include information on how the time can be used and what learners should consider before using the virtual office hour time.

    • Example: if the instructor recognizes the need to review a particular concept following a quiz or exam, the instructor might post that information as an announcement.
