Embed Settings

Once you’ve located the video in your library, clicking Embed for it will place it in your selected location with the largest non-transcript player. You can select a smaller player or a transcript player, and make it that your default, by clicking the settings button adjacent to the Embed button.

Embed Settings

  • Select a Player that does or does not include a transcript.

    • Transcripts that are included are available for download

  • Choose a video display size

  • Toggle on/off: Thumbnail Embed

    • With this off, Blackboard will automatically load a player for each Kaltura video on the page. This makes playback begin more quickly.

    • With this on, Blackboard only loads a player for the video once the thumbnail is clicked. This is useful if you have a large number of videos in a single page. The page load will be faster but the playback will be slightly slower to begin once the video is clicked.

  • Start video at: You can set the video to start playback at a point beyond the beginning of the video but it does not prevent the viewer from being able to rewind and watch before that point.

  • If you check the box to Save these settings as defaults these are the settings the system will use next time you click Embed on the library page.
