Research Support Funds

Advanced students are encouraged to seek funding for their research as necessary. The Center for Fellowship and Scholarship Advising is available to support you in applying for external grants and fellowships. In addition to seeking external grants, there are several competitive programs in the department and on campus that provide support for dissertation research.

Humanities Center Dissertation Fellowship: This one-year fellowship exclusively supports research and writing during the final year of the dissertation. It offers $25,290 as well as an $1,800 research stipend. See the linked page for more information and keep an eye out for the annual call for proposals.

Engaged Humanities Research Assistantships: This one-year fellowship provides a release from teaching to conduct research and writing in the publicly engaged humanities. It is jointly funded by the Graduate School School and the Engaged Humanities Program and typically pays $23,575. See the linked page for more information.
