Note: The following procedure uses the Spanish Placement Exam as an example, but the steps in the procedure are the same for all language exams. Click here for the list of language placement exams available online.
- Navigate to the Placement Exams Section in MySlice:
- Select: Take Placement Exams
- The student will be directed to the Blackboard Website where they will be required to enter their netid (example jsmoe) and password
Note: The Blackboard banner will reflect the current semester, Blackboard images are examples only. - Click on Placement Exams
- Choose the desired Language Placement Exam
NOTE: The Spanish Exam has an audio component. The student must have speakers available BEFORE taking the exam. - Click on the Language Placement Survey link to the right of the survey symbol to access the Language Survey (in this example the Spanish Placement Survey). The student will not have access to the language exam until the survey has been completed.
- Click Begin to complete the survey
- Answer the two survey questions and click Save and Submit.
- Confirm submission.
- To continue with the exam Click the Language Placement Exam in the Left Navigation Menu. (In this example "Spanish Placement Exam")
- Click on the Language Placement Exam Link in the Main Window to the right of the exam symbol .
- Click Begin to start the test. READ and follow the instructions to take the test.
- When complete click Save and Submit. A warning will be displayed if there are any unanswered questions.
- Be sure to confirm submission when the following window pops up.
- After confirming submission the student will be able to Click OK to review exam results. The student must wait for the "Test Submitted" screen below to ensure the system has recorded their grade.
The OK button is in the lower right hand side of the screen. The student may need to use the scroll bar to access the OK button.
To review the Language Course Eligibility they must go to the MySlice Placement Exam Section and choose "View Placement Exam Results" (Step 17 below). - Please log out after reviewing your score.
