Syracuse University has established email as a primary vehicle for official communication with students, faculty, and staff. An official email address is established and assigned by Information Technology and Services (ITS) for each student, as well as current faculty and staff members. All University communication sent via email will be sent to this address.

Syracuse University licenses email accounts for active students, staff, faculty, retired faculty (including emeriti), and sponsored associates whose role supports the University's mission. When a person's role is no longer active, access to the mailbox will be removed and data will be deleted.
