As a means to protect part of Syracuse University's data and information, SUMail is to be used by students, faculty, staff, and associates for all University email correspondence. Individual email messages may be forwarded to external recipients when necessary and appropriate, but rules to automatically redirect (aka forward) messages to a different email system are not allowedongoing efforts to maintain and secure email services, SUMail account holders are no longer allowed to automatically forward or redirect emails to third-party accounts. Note that the SU Policy pages have not yet been updated to reflect this change.
Rules that automatically forward email from @syr.edu to another email system will be deleted by SUMail administrators in March 2025.
