Microsoft 365 is a suite of productivity tools that enables you to work more efficiently and effectively. It includes classic Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as other secure productivity services that are delivered over the Internet.
Office 365 offers cloud storage through OneDrive, collaboration features inWith Microsoft 365, you can store and share files with others using OneDrive, collaborate with colleagues in real-time using Teams, and create digital notebooks
like OneNote, among many other featureswith OneNote. These tools allow you to communicate and collaborate with others, even when you're not in the same location. How do I sign into Office 365?
All Office 365 services are available by using your NetID@syr.edu email address and NetID password.Logging in to Microsoft 365
To access Microsoft 365 at Syracuse University, follow these steps:
Go to office.syr.edu

Enter your NetID@syr.edu email address and NetID password.
Click

) to see the menu of Office 365 web apps and services that are available to you. You can click on the app launcher icon while in any Office 365 web app to easily switch between applications.You can also download
the
"Sign In" button.

Downloading the Office applications

Installable Office applications are available for active students and full time staff. |
To download the Office applications, go to office.syr.eduand follow these steps:
Click on the “Apps" button in the bottom left-hand corner of the page.
Click on “Install Apps” in the top right-hand corner of the page.
This will bring you to a page where you see the following:
You will then select the “Install Office” button, which will then download Microsoft 365 Enterprise. Once this is done downloading, you will follow the prompts to finish the installation process.
Please start your computer after you install, and when you open any Microsoft 365 apps, you will be prompted to sign in with your NetID/SUmail account info.
Note: You can also access Microsoft 365 web apps and services by clicking on the desired app from the “Apps” section from Step 1.

Office The Microsoft 365 Training Center offers a range of online tutorials of all of the features in Office and resources to help you get the most out of Microsoft 365.
What if I am No Longer a Current Student or Staff/Faculty?
The Microsoft Licensing Program, through which Office 365 is being offered, is for current students and staff/faculty of participating Universities. If you are no longer eligible for the program (you graduated or left the university), there are consumer or commercial Office 365 plans available.Once you are no longer eligible, Office 365 services will no longer be available for you to use, or only available with limited functionality. As such, any data you have stored in these services will no longer be available to you. You will need Microsoft Licensing Program that provides access to Microsoft 365, you may need to purchase a personal license through Microsoft or seek out other commercial or consumer Microsoft 365 plans.
Keep in mind that once your eligibility ends, your access to Microsoft 365 services may be limited or discontinued, so it's important to retrieve any personal data you need to retain before you leave leaving the University. If you are not a current student, staff, or faculty member, please refer to the

Microsoft 365 Add-ons
While add-ons for can provide additional functionality and convenience to the Office suite can make certain things more accessible or convenient, at this time, the license that Syracuse University provides 's license for Office Microsoft 365 does not currently allow for add-ons to be added or supported by ITS or the end-userusers.
If you would like to use the Office suite Microsoft 365 with add-ons, you will need to purchase your own a personal license through Microsoft and add them at your own discretion.
