Gaining
Access to GitHub
Users Access to GitHub must be granted access to GitHub by their IT support team or the IT team in the school or college they are a part of. Reach out to them to gain access!
IT Team steps:
Add users to through the addition of the user(s) to the SU group named: SU-RSC-GitHub.
This access request maybe made to your local IT support staff or via the help desk.
Start using GitHub
Once your IT Team enables GitHub access:
- An email will be sent to your Syracuse University mailbox. (usually within 60 minutes)
- Create a GitHub.com account or follow the instructions in the email to link your existing personal GitHub account with your Syracuse University identity by completing the sign-in process.
- After successful sign-in, you will be brought to your account's "Dashboard". You can access the Syracuse University organization by using the "View organization" button or by navigating to: Syracuse University (github.com)
- Request to join an existing GitHub Team or follow one of the use case guides.
- Customize your GitHub Notifications
