SU is participating in the Microsoft Student Advantage program. Office 365 ProPlus installations are being offered to all active Students, Faculty, and Staff members through Syracuse University's licensing agreement with Microsoft. Through the program, current SU & ESF students (undergraduate, graduate, part-time, and non-credit) and SU staff and faculty (Not ESF Staff or Faculty) can download and install Office desktop applications on up to five computers (PC, Mac) and five mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Android). Project Advance students are not eligible for Office 365 ProPlus.
NOTE: ESF students may need to change their password if they have problems with downloading the app, or if there is a "Read Only" mode message.
Students can download Office 365 ProPlus using their SUmail student email account. What if I am No Longer a Current Student or Staff/Faculty?
The Microsoft Student Advantage Program, through which Office 365 ProPlus is being offered, is for current students and staff/faculty of participating Universities. If you are no longer eligible for the program (you graduate or leave the university), there are consumer or commercial Office 365 plans available. Once you are no longer eligible, Office 365 ProPlus will go into reduced functionality mode. You will no longer be able to create/edit documents using Office 365 ProPlus.
Once you leave the University, you will have to buy the standard subscription. The Office 365 Home Subscription is the most comparable to what you received with Pro Plus: https://products.office.com/en-us/office-365-home
Note that eligibility for the Student Advantage Program may be verified at any time.
