Certain pages on SU websites such as myslice require the user to enable pop ups in order to view content. Instruction on enabling pop-ups on some popular browsers are as follows:

Google Chrome 33.0 and above

When ever a link requiring a pop - up is clicked on, it a message appears on the address bar which reads " Pop-up Blocked" this indicates that the pop up was initiated by the webpage and chrome's pop up block feature prevented it from opening

5) Now Click Done. Starting now all pop-ups from will be allowed from this website.


Mozilla Firefox 28.0 and above


Whenever a up window tries to launch itself Mozilla prevents it from opening and displays a message on a yellow ribbon which reads " Firefox prevented this site from opening a pop-up window"

In order to view the pop-up click on "Options" on the yellow ribbon and the select "Allow pop-ups for "nameofwebsite.com"" or in this case"myslice.syr.edu 

 

To add a website as an exception such that all pop ups from this website will be allowed 

1) Click on the "Firefox" menu on the top left corner of the screen.

2) Click "Options" from "Options" menu.

3) Click on the contents tab from the window and click on exceptions.

4) This open open a window similar to the one below. Enter the name of the website that you want to have as an exception and then click on allowImage Added

This should allow all pop ups from this website.

 

Safari 5.0 and above

1) Click on Safari Menu and select "Preferences"

2) Click on the security tab and uncheck block pop-up window.

Internet Explorer

If a website tries to open a pop -up Internet explorer will prevent it from doing so and display a message on the bottom " Internet Explorer blocked a pop-
