When you select a link that requires a pop-up and they are currently blocked, you are provided the message " Pop-up blocked" which appears on the address bar. This indicates that the pop-up was initiated by the webpage and Chrome's pop-up block feature prevented it from opening.

For immediate relief, you must click on the message to enable pop-ups. Pop-ups can be permanently enabled by clicking on the message on from the drop down menu selecting "Always allow pop-ups from" ... or "myslice.syr.edu" specifically in the case below.

Whenever a up window tries to launch itself Mozilla prevents it from opening and displays a message on a yellow ribbon which reads " Firefox prevented this site from opening a pop-up window"

In order to view the pop-up, select "Options" on the yellow ribbon. Now select "Always allow pop-ups for myslice.syr.edu".

  2. Select "Options"

  3. On the bar on the left of the screen select "Content" and then click the "Exceptions" button

  4. This will open a new window like the one below. Type the address of the website that you would like to allow popups on then hit the "Allow" button

1) While in the Safari application, open the Safari Menu in the top left hand corner and select "Preferences".

The default settings of Microsoft Edge will automatically block pop-ups. A message similar to the one below will appear whenever Edge blocks a pop-up from appearing
