Using Power BI Web-based Client
Please use the following steps to use Power BI in your browser of choice. Note that log in will not be available until you contact the ITS Help Desk for activation of your Office 365 ProPlus eligible account.
1 - Open a Browser and Locate the Sign On page
Visit the PowerBI getting started page and click Sign On.
2 - Sign on Using your SU Email Account Credentials
Log in with your Office 365 ProPlus eligible account.
Can't Log In?
If you get the error message below, your account is not currently active. Ensure that you are logging in with your Office 365 ProPlus eligible account. If the issue continues, contact the ITS Help Desk.
Downloading and Installing Power BI Desktop
Please use the following steps to download and install your copy of Power BI desktop. Note that you may need your Windows administrator password to install this software.

1 - Open a Browser and Locate the Download Page
Visit the PowerBI download page in your desired browser and click Download.
2 - Enter a Valid Email Address and Download the Installer
Enter your syr.edu email address and click "Get started".
