With Poll Everywhere’s Course Management, instructors can create assignments using gradable activities or polls for participation like multiple choice and short answer. Similar to assignments, reports can show either student grades or participation history—participation reports track responses without assigning points.
The Course Management feature is best for when you would like to use Poll Everywhere for Blackboard. If you wish to just view the results from your polls, please go to the Creating Reports section below. |
If a Poll Everywhere link is created in your course, you can access Poll Everywhere from your course. If you need to create a Poll Everywhere link in your course, please visit Accessing Poll Everywhere Via Blackboard.
When you are back on your Course Content page you will see the Poll Everywhere link there. Clicking on the Poll Everywhere link directly brings you to the Poll Everywhere platform for login access. Click on the blue “Continue to http://developer.blackboard.com ” button. ![]() Once you click on the blue button, the Poll Everywhere page will appear. You can see a left ribbon panel where the Home icon is denoted by the arrow. You should see the name of your course as well as options to Add New Gradebook and/or Synch Roster. At the top left hand side you can see a navigation previous link that gives you access to all of your Courses which includes any courses you have already synced with Poll Everywhere. ![]() |
Once you have accessed Poll Everywhere from your Blackboard course, you can sync your course roster and export results to your Blackboard Gradebook.
To sync your Blackboard Gradebook, access Poll Everywhere through the link in your Blackboard course. This opens the Courses tab in Poll Everywhere. You will be in your course.
Click Sync Roster to import your Blackboard roster. Auto-sync is enabled by default, so once you have manually synced the first time the roster changes will sync automatically.
Once you have synced your roster, you can create assignments that are synced with your Blackboard gradebook and contain polls that you have created or will create in Poll Everywhere. Click Add New Assignment.
Once you click Add New Assignment, the panel to configure the assignment will appear. You need to add an assignment name and then you can add participation, correctness, or both.
Once you have created the assignment, you can add activities to it. Click +Activity to open the activities panel. Click the check box next to the activities that you want to add to the assignment. Then press Save in the bottom right of the panel.
After activities are added to the assignment, you can click Sync Grades for the assignment to sync the grades with Blackboard.
You can create reports from Polleverywhere.com or from clicking on the Poll Everywhere Link from your Blackboard course.
To create reports, click on the Reports tab and then choose Create Report from the top left of the screen.
Once you have clicked create report, a panel with report types will appear on the right side. Select the type of report that you would like to create. For more information about the different types of reports, please visit this page on PollEverywhere.com on report types.
After choosing the report type, choose the activities that you would like the report to include. To choose the activities, you will see to go inside of your My activities folder if you created the activity or Shared with me if the activity was shared with you.
Then you can select a folder or individual activities. Activities from multiple folders can be included in a report. Reports can be viewed in Poll Everywhere or exported to your Blackboard Gradebook.
To export report data to Blackboard, you will need to have a your course linked to Poll Everywhere. Please see Accessing Poll Everywhere from Blackboard section above for information on accessing and linking Poll Everywhere to your Blackboard course.
To sync a report with Blackboard, a Gradebook report is needs to be created. Please see above for information on creating reports. Click Export at the bottom of the Gradebook report.
Select the course from the drop down menu you wish to export the report to then select Grade, Participation, or Attendance from the panel. Once you have made your selections click next to sync the report with your Blackboard course.
