The Newhouse LA program is offered during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. 

Eligibility

• Junior or senior standing (60 credits completed) by the start of your semester in LA.
• Good academic, judicial, and financial standing with your home college and no unresolved issues.
• An academic advising plan that includes completion of your declared major requirements. 
• Syracuse University non-Newhouse majors need to submit home college approval.

Know before you go: 

• Advertising: declare your emphasis
• Bandier:  recommended fall semester of senior year
• Broadcast Digital Journalism:   Completion of JNL 211i is required.  Completion of BDJ 311/364 is recommended. 
• TRF:  completion of TRF 205/211/235 before your planned semester
• Single-enrolled Newhouse students: declare your minor
• Duals and non-Newhouse majors:  Have the Off Campus Home College Approval form 2022.pdf  filled out from the Advising Office, Records Manager or Student Services Director/Dean of your home college.

• Application Deadline: Jan. 30, 2024
• Mandatory Virtual Informational Meeting: Feb. 4, 2024 at 1 p.m. EST
• In-person Los Angeles Orientation: May 20, 2024 at 10 a.m. PST

Fall 2024

• Application Deadline: Feb. 15, 2024
• Mandatory Virtual Informational Meeting: Feb. 18, 2024 at 1 p.m. EST
• In-person Los Angeles Orientation: August 19, 2024 at 10 a.m. PST
