Below are instructions on how to connect with an RDP Client for Windows and Mac.

Windows

1. Download and open the RDP file for the RDS pool. (See: Retrieving an RDP file for Remote Desktop Services via WebClient )
2. You will be prompted with a login
   1. Under username, enter: AD\<Your NetID>
   2. Under password, enter: <Your NetID Password>

MacOS

1. Download and install the Microsoft Remote Desktop Mac App
2. Download and open the RDP file for the RDS pool. (See: Retrieving an RDP file for Remote Desktop Services via WebClient )
3. You will be prompted with a login
   1. Under username, enter:  <Your NetID>
   2. Under password, enter: <Your NetID Password>

Important considerations

• Save your work to your network (H:\) drive or with OneDrive syncing

  • Just like physical labs, any files saved to the local hard drives will be removed.

• Save your work often

  • Although we consider the RDS platform to be stable, working remotely brings many factors into play, such as unexpected network outages, ISP issues or problems with your home network or personal devices. Saving often will help avoid losing your hard work and valuable time.

• Please be aware: Idle sessions will automatically be logged out after 2 hours.
