When ever a link requiring a pop - up is clicked on, it a message appears on the address bar which reads " Pop-up Blocked" this indicates that the pop up was initiated by the webpage and chrome's pop up block feature prevented it from opening

In such a case user must click on the message to enable pop-ups. Pop ups can be enabled by clicking on the message on from the drop down menu selecting "Always allow pop-ups from "nameofwebsite.com" or "myslice.syr.edu in this case

Now open the link again to see that it populates a new window.
Frequently used webpages can be added to pop-up blocker exception. To do this
1) In the address bar type"chrome://settings/content" (without quotes")
2) Now scroll down to find Pop-ups
3)Then click on "Manage exceptions"
4) In the box that says "Host Pattern" enter the web address you want to allow popups from and select behavior from drop down as "Allow"

5) Now Click Done. Starting now all pop-ups from will be allowed from this website.
Whenever a up window tries to launch itself Mozilla prevents it from opening and displays a message on a yellow ribbon which reads " Firefox prevented this site from opening a pop-up window"

In order to view the pop-up click on "Options" on the yellow ribbon and the select "Allow pop-ups for "nameofwebsite.com"" or in this case"myslice.syr.edu
