Connect Your Turning Account with Blackboard
If you do not already have a Turning Account:
If you have not used ResponseWare in previous semesters, you do not have a Turning Account.

- Enter your name and email address
- Leave User ID Blank
- Under Role, select Participant
- Create a password for your Turning Account

If you already have a Turning Account:
If you've used ResponseWare in the past, you already have a Turning Account. In order to associate your Turning Account with your Blackboard account, you will need to do the follow:
- Go to blackboard.syr.edu and click on your class.
- Go to Tools and click on Turning Account Registration.
- Enter your Syracuse University email and your Turning Account password and click Sign In.
- Make sure the Learning Management System box shows a green checkmark, as shown below:
Clicker Bundle and License Options - What should you buy?
All students need to have a license to respond in their classes. You can make your purchase at the SU Bookstore, or from the Turning Technologies Student Store after creating your Turning Account.
Get a BUNDLE if your instructor requires a clicker and you do not already own one
A bundle includes a clicker, an account license, and the ability to respond with any web-enabled device via ResponseWare.

Register Your Device
Register Your Physical Clicker
- Login to Blackboard and access your course
- Click on Tools and select Turning Account Registration
- Enter your Syracuse University email and your Turning Account password and click Login
- Click on Device
- Click Add a Device
- Enter your Clicker ID and click Register
- You should see your device appear
Redeem a License
If you purchased your license online in the Turning Technologies Student Store, no further action is needed.
If you purchased your license at the SU Bookstore, you must do the following:
- Login to Blackboard and access your course
- Click on Tools and select Turning Account Registration
- Enter your Syracuse University email and your Turning Account password and click Login
- Click on the License box
- Click on Add a License
- Enter your License Code, found on the license card purchased from the SU Bookstore
- Click Redeem
- Your License box in the Dashboard should now have a green checkmark

Following this link will open your account profile on the TurningTechnologies website. If you are using this for the first time, you will first be asked to enter your Country and accept the user agreement. Your email, name, and role will be automatically entered from Blackboard—you cannot change them. The role should be left as "Participant." Click Continue.
If you have already purchased a subscription or device, you can enter the Subscription Code and Device ID on the following screens. If not, follow the prompts and click "Next" until the wizard finishes. You can skip any screen and return to make a purchase later.
If you need to return to the registration and account pages after you access it the first time, it is best to access the system through Blackboard. Upon returning, you may land on a page with a box to enter a session ID. You can get back to your account information by clicking the profile icon in the upper right corner and then clicking "Profile" from the menu.

Subscriptions and devices: What should you buy?
What you need to purchase will depend on the requirements of your course. Your course may all the use of a mobile device for responses, in which case you will only need a "Subscription" but it may also require a physical clicker to make responses. Check with your syllabus and instructor to see what is required for your course. You can see pricing and make purchases through the PointSolutions website.
After purchase
Once you've purchased a device or subscription you should go through your Blackboard course to Tools and click on Turning Account Registration to return to your profile page. There you can enter the Subscription Code or Clicker ID (shown on the back of your clicker) to complete your registration.
Verifying your registration
Your profile page will always show your current registration status. Once you're registered, your instructor will need to update their roster in their software to confirm the changes.
If you are using mobile responses only, you need a green check-mark next to "Subscriptions" and "Learning Management System" to be correctly registered.
If you are using a clicker, you need a green check-mark next to "Subscriptions," "Response Devices," and "Learning Management System" to be correctly registered.
