Registration Waitlist Fall
...
2025
Click here to add your name to the fall 2025 PAIA waitlist. The PAIA department will monitor and move students off the waitlist after registration begins for main campus new graduate students on April 5August 1st, 20232025. Waitlist requests before this date will be handled on a case-by-case basis. In the meantime, you will want to register for a back-up course selection. In previous years, the department has been able to accommodate the majority of students on the waitlists, but those requests may not be processed until the first week of classes.
Plan to attend the class that interests you during the first week, even if you were not able to pre-register for it. We will contact you if you are able to get into a wait-listed class. Thanks in advance for your patience during this process!

Registering for Language Classes
For International Relations students seeking to take an additional foreign language at Syracuse University, you will first need to take a language placement exam. This can be done by emailing the Department of Language, Literature, and Linguistics at lll@syr.edu, identifying yourself as a graduate student and sharing your SUID number, and requesting a placement exam. Please do note that the placement exam would have to be in a language currently taught by the Department of Language, Literature, and Linguistics.
