Question Banks (formerly called Question Pools in original course view) allow instructors to store, reuse, and randomize test questions across multiple assessments. |

You can create or import question banks for reuse in multiple assessments. When you select bank questions for an assessment, copies of the questions are created and added to the assessment. You can edit the copies in your assessment without affecting other assessments. Changes you make to one instance of the question or content aren't reflected in the other instances. If you want changes to show in all instances, you must find and edit each copied instance. Only .zip files are supported if you choose to import a question bank.
Create a new question bank in an Ultra Course
From the details and actions menu click on the Manage Banks link. The question bank panel will slide open. Click on the purple plus sign and select New to create a new question bank.
Add a name and a description. Click save. Adding a description to the question bank helps to organize your question banks. In addition, it will allow you to search for specific question banks using the search field.
Add questions to a question bank by clicking on the plus sign. A list of supported question types will open. Select a question type and follow the prompts for adding your question. Select the Automated Feedback if you want students to see the feedback you type. Use the grade pill box to change the point value. Click Save and repeat for as many questions as you want to add.

Once you have entered in all of your questions, you can search the question bank for a specific question by selecting a question type and/or typing in a key descriptor.

Auto Generate a Question Bank
In the Details & Actions menu, select Manage Banks.
Select the + sign and from the menu, select Auto-generate
Enter a description (max 2000 characters)
Select course items that you want the AI to use to help generate appropriate questions
Question Type
Select from the drop down menu the type of question you would like generated
Inspire me will return a variety of generated question types for you to choose from
Adjust the complexity of generated questions using slider
Use the slider to select how many questions to generate
Open Advanced options with the arrow to change the language
Select Generate
Once generated, you will see an information banner that the questions have been auto-generated and need to be checked for accuracy and bias.
Check the box next to the questions you would like to add to your question bank and select Add to Question Bank.
Select the Go to Bank link in the question bank created pop up menu. If you miss this pop up, you can find the generated question bank, titled “Generated Bank + date created”.
Rename the Question Bank
Go to the question bank and rename the question bank using the pencil icon next to the title.
Generate additional questions
Go to the question bank and select the + sign to generate additional questions
Use the down arrow to expand the question to view the answers
Edit, Duplicate or Delete a generated question
Go to the generated question bank and select the ellipsis menu to expand a menu and select to edit, duplicate or delete the question.
