Microsoft Outlook App Configuration
- If an introductory screen is shown on first launch of the app, tap Get Started.
- Enter your email address in the form of <NetID>@syr.edu.
- Tap Add Account or Continue.
- If the account type is not automatically detected, select Exchange.
- Toggle Advanced Settings.
- Check that Server is exchange.syr.edu.
- Enter your SU Netid and password.
- On iOS enter ad.syr.edu in Domain.
- On Android enter AD\<NetID> in Domain\Username.
- Enter a description or your choosing, ex.: SU Exchange.
- Tap Sign In.
- Tap Maybe Later or Skip on the add another account screen.
- Swipe left to review highlights of some of the apps features or tap Skip.
- On iOS, to enable notifications of recieved email and calender events, tap Turn On in the Enable Notifications popup.
- Tap Allow in the notification permissions popup.
- Once your Exchange email account setup is complete, you will be taken to your Inbox.Launch the app and enter your account name in the format "NetID@syr.edu"
- Click on 'Add Account'. Enter your password and additional items as pictured below, using your own information. The 'Description' field is just a label for the account and can be anything you want.
- Click 'Sign In'. On the next couple customization pages you can click 'Skip' or 'Maybe later' to bypass them. You should then see your usual Inbox.
Troubleshooting
If you experience problems sending or receiving e-mail from your mobile device, the simplest resolution is usually to remove and then re-configure your account. To remove your account, follow the steps below. To add it back, follow the steps above in the "Microsoft Outlook App Configuration" section.
- Open your account settings. On the main 'Inbox' screen, click the circle with your first initial.
- On the next screen, click the gear icon in the lower left.
- Click on your SU account.
- Click on 'Delete Account'.
