"Approving" your leave of absence in MySlice confirms the terms of the leave, indicating that your plans have not changed since you received confirmation from Faculty Affairs that your leave was approvedgranted. For this reason, please do not "approve" your leave of absence until 30 days prior to the start date for your leave. For example, if you have been approved for a leave of absence that will begin August 24, please do not approve your leave until after July 25.

When you approve your leave of absence in MySlice, please follow the steps below. Parental Leave of Absence, Administrative Leave of Absence, and Research Leave of Absence have slightly different approval steps. Please select the appropriate steps below based on the kind of leave you are approving. associated with your specific kind of leave:

  1. Select “Parental LOA” from the menu on the left side of the page.
  2. Select your online leave form.

  1. Select “view details.”
  2. Review the details of the request.
  3. Verify that you are listed at the bottom of the page as a pending approver.
  4. Review comments made by others, if desired. 
  5. If the details are correct and you do not want to enter comments, click “Approve.” You have completed your confirmation.

  2. Re-open the request.
  3. Click “approve” and enter your comment in the comment box.
  4. Hit submit.
