Once the committee agrees that the dissertation is ready for final examination, the candidate will work with the dissertation advisor to communicate the details of the upcoming oral examination, including date, time, location, and format to the Graduate School via submission of the Request for Examination Form.
This request for examination form will be signed by the dissertation advisor, the Faculty Director of Graduate Studies, and then submitted to the Graduate School. The Graduate School will not proceed with notification of the defense until it is received. This process must be completed at least three weeks before the scheduled defense.
