LEMP supports technology for a wide variety of events on main campus. Note, LEMP A/V services for events is fee-based and priority is given to academic based events and classes.  Consulting and referral services are also available for events that LEMP is unable to support.

💻 Classroom Audio/Visual (A/V) Support

LEMP does not offer live video streaming.

🔗 Communication Access Real Time Translation (CART) Connection

LEMP supports handles the technology portion of CART and will connect to your transcriptionist. We will connect the transcriptionist with audio and display the transcription/captions onsite. Note, some classrooms have built in CART capabilities or LEMP may be required to bring in a television to display CART. A transcriptionist will need to be requested separately to transcribe the in room audiofor CART, providing your transcriptionist with an audio feed and displaying captions on-site. Some classrooms have built-in CART capabilities (such as a wall-mounted display or multi-window display), but LEMP might need to bring in a mobile TV for CART. You’ll need to arrange for a transcriptionist separately. Recommended transcriptionists include:

📸 Photography

Capture your next event with LEMP’s photography services. LEMP can provide photography support for events on main campus, only. LEMP will provide you with the unedited, high-resolution images and can provide editing services upon request and availability.

🎤 Portable A/V Systems

Mobile A/V systems can be added to events held in spaces without built-in technology, including:

  • Additional Microphones

  • Podiums

  • Portable Displays

  • Portable Public Address Systems

  • Uplighting

🎥 Video Recording and Editing

Record your guest lecturer or live event with our video services. LEMP offers 1080p HD video recordings.

Multi-Camera recordings and editing can be requested based on LEMP's availability. Please note that these recordings are meant for archiving;

LEMP does not offer live video streamingcaptures of lectures, presentations, and events. Single-camera recordings are standard, but multi-camera setups and editing may be available upon request. These recordings are intended for archiving purposes. All recordings will be provided via video.syr.edu.

Please note that it is the University’s policy that all public-facing videos need to be captioned. The University is contracted with Automatic Sync to provide special rates for captioning. More information regarding captioning can be found by visiting Video Captioning Resources or contacting ITS Accessibility (at accessibleIT@syr.edu). 

Request LEMP Services

Labor

Labor charges include set-up and testing time, rehearsals, event duration and strike time. At least 30-minutes prior to and after the event is anticipated for set-up, testing and strike time. Gap time is also included for events after University business hours. Additional hours will apply for advanced video editing requests. Note, four hour minimum on weekends. Labor rates are as follows:

Full-Time Staff (FTE)

$60 per FTE per hour

Student Employee

$25 per student per hour

Studio Rate
For filming in LEMP Studio (includes staffing)

$140 per hour

  1. Ensure your event space is reserved and add extra time to your reservation. LEMP suggests reserving at least 30 minutes before the event for setup and A/V testing, and another 30 minutes afterward to remove equipment.

  3. Complete the LEMP Live Event Request Form
    Note, this form will require you to sign into Orange Tracker/Atlassian with your Syracuse University email address and password to access. Completing this form is not a guarantee of service. LEMP will respond within 48 business hours.
