Creating a Turning Account

All instructors using TurningPoint must create and account and link it to the Blackboard system. This is done through the process outlined below. You only need to go through the process once (regardless of how many courses you're using TurningPoint in). In most cases, you will not need to return to the TurningPoint website once you've created an instructor account.
Creating an Instructor Turning Account
- Go to http://account.turningtechnologies.com
- Enter your Syracuse University email address (netid@syr.edu) and click Create.
- A verification email will be sent to the email address entered. Within the email, click the link to verify your Turning Account.
- If you did not receive the verification email, click the Resend button in the Turning Account website.
- Enter all required fields.
- Enter and confirm your password.
- The password must:
- Have at least eight characters
- Contain one lowercase letter
- Contain one uppercase letter
- Contain one number
- The password must:
- Select the by labeled By checking this, you agree to comply with the End-User Agreement and Terms of Use.
- Click Finish.

- blackboard.syracuse.edu, login and enter any current course.
- Click on Tools in your course menu
- Browse to Turning Account Registration
- Following this link will open your account profile on the TurningTechnologies website.
If you are using this for the first time, you will first be asked to accept the user agreement. Your email, name, and role will be automatically entered from Blackboard—you cannot change them. Check the box and click Finish. - Once your account has been created, you can leave the TurningPoint website. You will not need to visit it again. You only need to do this once.
