If you do not already have a Turning Account:

Blackboard to a TurningTechnologies Account

1. Go to blackboard.syrsyracuse.edu and login with your NetID and password.
2. Click on your course.
3. Go to Tools and click on the link for Turning Account Registration.

4. Enter your Syracuse University email and click Create.

5. A confirmation will be sent to your email. Once you receive this, click on the link in the email to complete account setup.
6. At the next screen:
   1. Enter your name and email address
   2. Leave User ID Blank
   3. Under Role, select Participant
   4. Create a password for your Turning Account
   5. Click Create Account.
7. Make sure the Learning Management System box shows a green checkmark, as shown below:

If you already have a Turning Account:

If you've used ResponseWare in the past, you already have a Turning Account. In order to associate your Turning Account with your Blackboard account, you will need to do the follow:

1. Go to blackboard.syr.edu and click on your class.
2. Go to Tools and click on Turning Account Registration.

3. Enter your Syracuse University email and your Turning Account password and click Sign In.
4. Make sure the Learning Management System box shows a green checkmark, as shown below:

2. Following this link will open your account profile on the TurningTechnologies website.
   If you are using this for the first time, you will first be asked to accept the user agreement. Your email, name, and role will be automatically entered from Blackboard—you cannot change them. Check the box and click Accept.

3. If you have already purchased a subscription and device from the SU Bookstore, you can enter the Subscription Code and Device ID. If not, press continue until the wizard finishes. 

Subscriptions and devices: What should you buy?

All students need to have a license to respond in their classes. You can make your purchase must have an active subscription to use the system. Depending on the requirements of your course, you may also be required to buy a clicker. You can buy these materials at the SU Bookstore , or from the Turning Technologies Student Store after creating your Turning Account.

Redeem a License

If you purchased your license online in the Turning Technologies Student Store, no further action is needed.

If you purchased your license at the SU Bookstore, you must do the following:

1. Login to Blackboard and access your course
2. Click on Tools and select Turning Account Registration
3. Enter your Syracuse University email and your Turning Account password and click Login
4. Click on the License box

6. Enter your License Code, found on the license card purchased from the SU Bookstore
7. Click Redeem
8. Your License box in the Dashboard should now have a green checkmark

 , you should buy a "bundle" which includes both a subscriptions and a device. Approximate Fall 2017 pricing is as follow:

• RF LCD Clicker with 1-Year Subscription: $45
• RF LCD Clicker with 5-Year Subscription: $70
• QT2 Clicker with 1-Year Subscription: $55
• QT2 Clicker with 5-year Subscription: $80

If your instructor allows mobile responses or if you already own a clicker you should buy a subscription only. Approximate Fall 2017 pricing is as follows:

• 1-Year Subscription: $25
• 5-Year Subscription: $50

After purchase

Once you've purchased a device or subscription you should go through your Blackboard course to Tools and click on Turning Account Registration to return to your profile page. There you can enter the Subscription Code or Clicker ID to complete your registration.

Verifying your registration

Your profile page will always show your current registration status. Once you're registered, your instructor will need to update their roster in their software to confirm the changes.

If you are using mobile responses only, you need a green checkmark next to "Subscriptions" and "Learning Management System" to be correctly registered. 

If you are using a clicker, you need a green checkmark next to "Subscriptions," "Response Devices," and "Learning Management System" to be correctly registered.
