ITS will supply a student with a QAM tuner in the event that they have a television that does not have one. If a student is in need of a QAM tuner, please call 315-443-2677 and a help desk consultant will request the tuner through our telecommunications department. The student will then need to acquire the tuner from the walk in center located at 1-227 CST (Hours of Operation).

Cable TV Setup

Initial Setup

Setting up Your TV:

  • Ensure that the power cord is securely fastened to the TV and to the wall outlet. A surge protector is preferred.
  • If you have a cable box, verify the cable is connected to the "IN" jack on the cable box. Connect the outgoing video quality desired to the corresponding input of the television.
  • If you don't have a cable box, verify the cable coming from the wall is plugged into the "IN" jack on the TV (or VCR, DVD).

Connecting to the Internet

Internet connected televisions are not able to connect to the AirOrangeX wireless network. They can, however, connect to the wired residential network with no restrictions.

To connect you'll need an Ethernet cord. The port should look similar to the image below.
