SU Guests/Visitors Wireless Access

 

AirOrangeGuest  is the wireless network available for guests and visitors on SU's campus. AirOrangeGuest provides unsecuredshort-term wireless access. 

Self-Sponsored

Wireless access for guests and visitors not affiliated with Syracuse University.

1. To create a self-sponsored account, a text capable mobile phone is required before proceeding.

2. Connect to the AirOrangeGuest wireless network. Open your web browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc...) and go to http://guestadmin.syr.edu/guest/register.php.

NOTE: If an account has already been created, select the Already have a password? Click to sign in link above to login.

NOTE 2: all guest accounts created before 7/26/16 will need to be re-created.

3. Guests must enter their 10-digit cell phone number. Check the I accept terms of use box and click Register. You will be taken to a confirmation page and your password will be texted to the cell phone number used here. Select the Click HERE to sign in link to login.

4. Enter your guest ID (cell phone number) and your password and click Log In. You’re now ready to use the internet.

NOTE: Your account is valid for 1 week.

SU-Sponsored (only current SU Faculty, Staff or Students can sponsor guests)

Wireless access for guests and visitors not affiliated with Syracuse University.

1. To create a su-sponsored account, a 10 digit phone number will be needed to use as your guest's login.

2. On the sponsor’s computer (wired connection), open a web browser and go to https://guestadmin.syr.edu, login with your net/password.

3. Select Create New Guest Account.

4. Fill out the form for the guest and click Create.

5. Guests can connect to the network using their device and connecting to the AirOrangeGuest wireless network. Open a web browser and go to http://guestadmin.syr.edu/guest/register.php to login.

NOTE: Your account is valid for 2 weeks.

EDUROAM 

Eduroam (education roaming) provides students, faculty, and staff from participating institutions simple, instant and secure access to the Internet when visiting each other's institutions.

Laptops

1. From your device, connect to the eduroam wireless network.

2. When prompted, type in your credentials (full email address and password) from your participating institution.

3. Select OK or Join to connect. Once connected, you should be ready to use the internet. 

Android (phone/tablet)

Open the Settings application, go to Wi-Fi and select the eduroam wireless network. When prompted, use the following settings:

  • EAP Method:  PEAP
  • Phase 2 Authentication:  MSCHAPv2
  • Identity:  enter your institution's full email address
  • Password:  enter your password

Select Connect. Once connected, you should be ready to use the internet.

iOS (iPhone/iPad)

1. Open the Settings application.

2. Go to Wi-Fi and select the eduroam wireless network.

3. When prompted, enter your institution's full email address and password and select Join.

4. On the next window select Accept, to accept the certificate.

Once connected, you should be ready to use the internet.
