Sponsor: Fawell & Fawell Scholarship: Out-of-State Student Scholarship Detailed Description: In today's world, college students do not have it easy. In addition to the skyrocketing costs of college tuition, the amounts students will need to pay for expenses such as housing and transportation have also increased significantly. Many students struggle to cover these costs and ensure that they can receive the proper education and pursue their career goals. Students who attend college in states or regions of the country that are far away from their families will often face additional challenges and increased expenses, and they may be concerned that they will be unprepared to address these concerns. At Fawell & Fawell, we understand the issues that affect students who travel to other states to attend college, and we have created a scholarship program to provide assistance for these students. Through the Fawell & Fawell Out-of-State Student Scholarship, we award $1,000 each semester to a qualified student who will be pursuing educational opportunities in a location outside of the state where they attended high school or where their parents currently live. Scholarship winners can use this money to pay for tuition, housing, other educational costs, or transportation-related expenses. Requirements: Students can apply for the scholarship by submitting the form. An applicant must provide identifying information showing that they are an out-of-state student, as well as proof of enrollment and documentation of their GPA. Documents that can be submitted to show that the requirements have been met include an acceptance letter and an academic transcript. Applicants must also submit an essay of at least 200 to 300 words that answers the following prompt:

Scholarship: The Blossom Law Caregiver Scholarship
Detailed Description: Blossom Law provides valuable and compassionate legal services to families who are often juggling bills and struggling with debt. Charlotte bankruptcy attorney Rashad Blossom personally understands the integral role that a family can play in times of hardship, and he appreciates the strong foundation that family members can provide, especially when they provide care for their loved ones.
In honor of his mother, Bobbie Blossom, who was a caregiver for his father, Rashad established The Blossom Law Caregiver Scholarship in 2022 to offer financial relief to students who have a parent who has been the primary caregiver for a loved one or who have served as caregivers themselves. Twice a year, Blossom Law offers college students the opportunity to receive $1,000 through the Blossom Law Caregiver Scholarship. The award may be used to supplement the costs of tuition, room and board, and other educational expenses.
Requirements: The Blossom Law Caregiver Scholarship requires each applicant to submit an original essay (approximately 500-1000 words) answering the provided prompt. Along with the essay, we also request that you submit contact information, proof of enrollment, and documentation of your most recently achieved GPA. Please write an essay on the following prompt:
- "Being a loved one's caregiver is an incredible act of service, and it is often a thankless job. If you have a parent who has provided care for a loved one, or if you have been a caregiver yourself, how has this experience affected your priorities or long-term goals? How will this new perspective prepare you for the future?

- You are at least 18 years of age
- You are enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university
- You are a citizen or permanent resident of the United States
- You earned a 3.0 grade point average or higher in your most recently completed semester

Sponsor: American Bar Association (ABA) Scholarship: 2024 Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund Detailed Description: The mission of the ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund is to encourage racial and ethnic minority students who are underrepresented in the legal profession to apply to law school and to provide financial assistance to ensure that these students have the opportunity to attend law school for three years. While the scholarship is not limited to U.S. citizens or permanent residents, foreign students studying in the United States are not eligible. The ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund will award $5,000 of financial assistance annually to each scholarship recipient attending an ABA-accredited law school. An award made to an entering first-year student may be renewable for two additional years, resulting in financial assistance totaling $15,000 during his or her time in law school. Although each recipient will not need to reapply for the scholarship in his or her second and third year, the expectation is that the scholarship will be renewed each year if satisfactory performance in law school has been achieved, the student is otherwise eligible, and funding is available. Requirements: It is important for every applicant to complete all portions of the application and ensure that all required materials, including at least two letters of recommendation, are submitted ahead of the deadline. Financial information for the applicant and his or her parents is required to evaluate the applicant’s financial need. Eligibility: In addition to whether the applicant is a member of a racial and/or ethnic minority that has been underrepresented in the legal profession, the applicant’s financial need; personal, family, and educational background; personal statement; and participation in community service activities will be considered in selecting the recipients of the ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarships.
