Zoom is a video conferencing platform licensed by Syracuse University that instructors can use in their courses. As of summer 2024, Zoom is the only supported video conferencing tool in Blackboard at Syracuse University. |
Virtual meetings can be conducted using Zoom and links to Zoom meetings can be integrated into your Blackboard Ultra Course. Zoom can be accessed outside of your course at at zoom.syr.edu by logging in with your SU NetID For more information about setting up a Zoom meetingNetID. This page provides instructions for creating Zoom meetings for users in a Blackboard course. For information about using Zoom for other purposes, please visit Zoom at Syracuse University. Add a Zoom Link in a Blackboard Course
To add a Zoom link to your course, click on the purple plus sign icon in the course content area and select "content market" from the dropdown list.
Locate the "Zoom Meeting" tile " from the alphabetical content market list. Click the plus sign icon in the bottom right of the tile to add the a link to your course.
Once the link has been added to your course, click Click on the zoom newly-created Zoom meeting link that has been added to your course content area. This will open the zoom Zoom meeting panel.

One zoom A single Zoom link can be created to show all meetings for the course and/or a recurring meeting such as weekly online office hours. You can also create separate links for the coursein Blackboard for individual Zoom meetings, such as for meeting with different project groups, if you prefer. |

Recorded sessions Zoom meetings are automatically uploaded to Kaltura. These sessions can be found at video.syr.edu or in the cloud recordings area on the zoom link. To share a recorded meeting through Blackboard, follow the instructions for sharing Kaltura video links. |
